Seed Capital, risk capital plus finance
Over the past few years, the Teknikdalen Foundation has worked via DalaSådd to start a unique partnership between Dalarna County Council, Innovationsbron i Uppsala and Almi Dalarna. The general, long-term objectives of DalaSådd are use seed financing initiatives to markedly reduce risk and increase the rate of commercialisation for innovative projects/companies in Dalarna. This will contribute towards growth in business volume, knowledge and employment opportunities.
A business angel network in Dalarna has already been started but is not actively operational. The project seeks to renew, expand and develop the network in order to offer companies risk capital. An established network of business angels provides the opportunity to link innovative ideas with risk capital. Private investors often provide a good complement, offering both capital and knowledge to innovative entrepreneurs.
Access to finance for innovation projects carried out in transnational partnership of SMEs and/or scientific institutions will be improved by the JOSEFIN fund and will unlock investments of SMEs in innovative products and services and support them on their way to business internationalisation and sustainable growth.
